FUNDED & INDEPENDENTLY-FUNDED OPPORTUNITIES, 2016/2017
Cove Park is a charity which creates funded residencies for individuals and groups, which are paid for by public and private grants and donations. It also runs an open programme which allows organisations, companies and individuals to pay for a residency at Cove Park. These residencies offer artists from all art forms self contained living / sleeping spaces and communal meeting and working areas in our new Artists Centre.
Funded residencies are awarded by direct invitation or following an application process. Artists on residency are given the time, space, freedom and financial support to concentrate on the development of their work. Cove Park provides a supportive context in which artists can devise new projects, experiment and engage with artists working in different fields or with different approaches to their practice.
Cove Park is happy to support and facilitate the production of specific projects during residencies and, equally, to ensure that those artists who wish to develop new ideas without the constraints of the completion of a final piece of work are free to do so.
The opportunity for individual research and development is enhanced through the interaction and discussion that takes place between the artists on residency. This is promoted through a series of informal events, talks and presentations.
Application Guidelines for Cove Park’s 2017 Translation, Film and Literature funded residency programmes are now available on this page – please scroll down to see all our forthcoming residency opportunities. Thank you to everyone who has applied for the Craft and Visual Art Residencies in 2017 – we will acknowledge all applications in due course.
HOW TO ENQUIRE ABOUT INDEPENDENTLY-FUNDED OPPORTUNITIES
In addition to those individuals and groups who have been awarded a funded residency, we make the Artists Centre’s facilities available from October to April free of charge as part of our community and education programme Hands-On Cove Park, and to artists who do not have a funded residency.
If artists or visitors participating in one of our events wish to use the overnight accommodation, they may do so at the following rates:
A Cube (our self-catering individual live/work spaces), which is available for a two night minimum stay, can be booked at a cost £60 – £80 per night;
A Pod (which sleeps up to four), can be booked at a cost of £130 – £150 per night;
And an accommodation unit (which contains private studio space) in the new Artists Centre, can be booked at a cost of £110 per night. One of these is fully wheelchair accessible.
We offer a 10% discount nightly after five nights and a 20% discount nightly after 10 nights.
In the first instance please fill out the enquiry form by following the link below. In addition, the entire site can be booked for creative group residencies. Please get in touch for more information.
The Artists Centre’s central use, in line with all of Cove Park’s work, is for residencies and as such we do not hire it out as a venue for one-off events or community activity. Should you be interested in linking in with one of our programmes, please send an email in the first instance to firstname.lastname@example.org
