Hands-On Cove Park is a programme of talks, workshops and events for people in Argyll & Bute led by professional artists currently and formerly resident at Cove Park.

We are delighted to announce the first events in the programme launched at our Community Open Day on Saturday 17 September 2016.

Beginning in October you can choose from:

1. a week long Create Your Portfolio course for young people wanting to prepare and compile a portfolio to apply for the creative higher education course of their choice

2. 1973: Dance and Movement Workshop for over 50s with dance-maker and choreographer Janice Parker, part of Luminate: Scotland’s Creative Ageing Festival

3. absorb yourself in a weekend dedicated to Developing Your Design Process, through Drawing, Colour and Pattern with knitwear designer Jennifer Kent of Edition Scotland

4. try your hand at producing knitwear samples with Jennifer Kent and concrete casting with architect, Andy Campbell of Dress for the Weather at a Craft Scotland Meet Your Maker event.

And starting in November – with a seasonal whizz bang of course! – sign up your young creatives to regular Saturday Art Club sessions for 5-11 year olds or National Art & Design Saturday Club sessions for 12-18 year olds.

You can find out about the above events and more as we announce them, and book your place at hands-on-cove-park.eventbrite.co.uk.

We look forward to welcoming you to Cove Park!
