Scotland’s Festival of Architecture & Design is launched this month with Hinterland: an opportunity to experience Scotland’s greatest modernist ruin, Kilmahew/St. Peter’s, near Cardross, Helensburgh. To mark this event, Cove Park is offering free guided tours from 3.30 – 4.30pm on 22 and 23 March. These tours will focus upon the site and the unique accommodation and studios Cove Park provides for its artists and visitors: specifically our ‘Cubes’, produced by the London-based company Urban Space Management from recycled shipping containers, and the ‘Pods’, wooden buildings designed by Glasgow-based architect Andrew McAvoy. The tours will give an insight in to how these buildings, and a new Artists Centre currently being constructed on site, respond to the environment in which they are located and support our wider programme.
